Course Description:
This is a one-credit semester course in art. This course outline will include the four components of Discipline-Based Art Education; Art History, Aesthetics, Criticism and Materials. Projects will include the following:
*Watercolor: Transparent painting, dry brush work, stippling, wet brush work, washes, blending and layering colors, stretching watercolor paper and artists studies.
*Acrylics: 3-4 color non-representational work, realism, water and medium mixing, impasto and aggregate (foreign textures), abstract and representational work.
Materials Needed:
Folder for handout materials
Sketchbook for sketches and preliminary work
Pencils
Art gum eraser/ or soft eraser
Small basic set of acrylic paints
Watercolor set for washes (can be an old set)
