Pre-Calculus
Prerequisite: Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II
Grade: 11-12 (Requirement for Core 40 is student had algebra in 8th grade and for the AHD)
Credits: Two semesters, two (2) credits.
Description: This is an accelerated & enriched course which includes all the content of Algebra II as well as a study of Trigonometry. The class will spend 3 to 4 weeks reviewing Algebra II and then continue the study of the structure of the real & complex numbers. Trigonometry is studied both from the ratio of coordinates of real numbers approach & the circular function approach. Students enrolling in this class must show a strong aptitude for mathematics in both Algebra I & II and in Geometry. Students should plan to spend a minimum of one hour per day in out-of-class preparation.
