Pre-Algebra

Calculus

Prerequisite:  Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus

Grade:  12

Credits:  Two semesters, two (2) credits.

Description:  Calculus is a course that applies the skills of Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry.  It is a study of the mathematics of motion and change, It involves two main parts; differential, which is concerned with finding the rate at which a variable is changing; and integral, which is concerned with finding a function when its rate of change is unknown. The course will be taught with the idea that the most successful students will gain advanced placement upon entering a university-level course in Calculus. Students are expected to spend a minimum of one hour daily in preparation for the class.
