Pre-Algebra

Algebra I

Prerequisite:  At least a "C" average in 8th grade math

Grade:  9-10-11-12 (Requirement for regular diploma, core 40, and AHD)

Credits:  Two semesters, two credits (2)

Description:  This course is the standard beginning course in algebra and is strongly recommended for those students who are planning to attend a four year college.  Content includes a study of real numbers, solutions of equations and inequalities, polynomials, functions, rational expressions, irrational numbers, and solutions of quadratic equations.  Students can expect to spend one-half hour daily out-of-class in preparation for class.
