What it is:- Weightlifting done as a training program for overall fitness, strength, and endurance.

History: Weight training has been an important and fundamental part of the Physical Education Department, for years. It teaches students how to be responsible in the weight room, as well as educates them on the basics of muscle groups in the body and how to tone/develop them. The program is completely effective and safe. Not only that, but students who want to push themselves further than the state required limit for such training and athleticism, may be eligible for Advanced P.E. which focuses almost solely on this side of physical health.

FAQs:

WOULD WEIGHT TRAINING BE GOOD FOR ME?
Benefits of weight training are there for everyone. Weight Lifting isn't just for body builders or strongmen, it's for you too. If you want a longer healthier life, this is one of the best things to do. Not only that, but it's a great confidence builder as well.

IS IT DANGEROUS?
It can be when done irresponsibly, but when performed responsibly (or under supervision) it is safe. In all sincerity, weightlifting decreases the possibility in other athletic activities, due to the fact that your strength/stamina/endurance, is increased, so the chance decreases.

WILL I LOSE FLEXIBILITY?
The truth is that you'll gain flexibility that you couldn't gain under normal circumstances.

IF I STOP, WILL MY MUSCLE TURN INTO FAT?
Only when pigs start flying. If you set a tub of lard on your kitchen table, will it turn into muscle after an extended amount of time? Of course not. Then the same circumstances apply to this.
