What it is:- A game between two teams whose players try to toss a ball to one another until they cross the opponents goal line; possession changes when the ball is intercepted or touches the ground or goes out

History:- Originally called "Mintonette", volleyball was invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan, a graduate of the Springfield College of the YMCA. Volleyball is a combination of basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball. The USVBA (United States Volleyball Association) was formed in 1928.

 

Facts:

  • The net is 3 feet, the top which stands at 8 feet from the ground for men, 7 feet 4 1/8  inches for women.

  •  3 forwards and 3 back compose a team.

  • First team to score 15 points wins the game. Your team must win by 2 points.

  • 2 teams are separated by a net who contact crosses the net to the other team.

  • Volleyball is the 2nd most popular sport in the world today, exceeded by soccer.
